Lightning Fire Research
This is a private research project aimed at preventing firefighter fatalities. In 2018 and 2021 Maryland had Line of Duty Deaths that we believe were a result of CSST gas tubing failure due to lightning strikes. These fires are often not reported and until recently have been relatively unknown. However we believe they are far more common.  You can help aid in our research project by reporting lightning fires you are aware of or encounter.  Please share this form with anyone you know in fire service. We are interested in historical information as well as current. If you would like more information on the Maryland LODDs or CSST please visit www.csstinfo.com .
